System Workload Transaction and User Analyses

If you have access to transaction ST03 or ST03N in your system you can access some very important information.

For example do you want to know if a transaction code is used in your SAP instance?

  • You can view the total transaction workload, that is the response time and data transferred and number of times a transaction is called, for a given period.
    • To do: Execute ST03N –>Select the User mode, for example Administrator –>Select the workload (which server) from the top left.
    • Now select the type of data you wish to analyse, for example to view transactions select –>”Transaction Profile” from bottom left.

For example do you want to know how active a user whom is logged in to your system is?

You can view the total workload per suer, that is the number of screen changes and data transferred for a given period.

  • To do: Execute ST03N –>Select the User mode, for example Administrator –>Select the workload (which server) from the top left.
  • Now select the type of data you wish to analyse, for example to view User Workload –> Select “User Profile” from bottom left.

–> A transaction step corresponds to a screen change, that is, a request that the SAP R/3 system executes for a user.

Tip

–> If on the User Profile and on a single server (under workload) you may double click on the user to see a list of transactions codes that user has executed on that server for your analysis period.
